They maintain osmotic equillibrium, the internal water balance that enables muscles and nerves to contract and expand and wounds to heal. Necessary for rehydration after exercise, these trace minerals are easily absorbed due to their tiny size.Minerals are used for anti-aging, general immune function, stamina and endurance. Since most of our water is filtered (removes minerals) and our pet food is made from animals that eat feed grown by modern farming methods that are lacking in minerals, their bodies need mineral replacement. This is a human formula that we have used for our pets as well.
