No Scrip for my Journey

A family that sings together can bond together. This was a guiding theme for the family of Ruth Ann Cox. Seated at the piano, her mother would teach each of her 12 adopted children and the 29 foster children they took in, the joy of singing. Like the Von Trapp family, the Singing Zims as they were known performed at churches and spiritual events all across the country bringing joy and inspiration for all who attended. Ruth Ann’s memories are reflected in her new book, No Scrip for my Journey (Safe Goods/ATN Publishing). As an accomplished and highly regarded spiritual musician, she has composed many works some of which she has reprinted within the chapters. No Scrip for my Journey is her autobiography that tells of the challenges and triumphs of her family and her life and relays the adventure of the 175 engagements they sang each year. It is filled with references to scripture and how her faith influenced her and her family’s life.
